Spring Awakening

With the Easter weekend having flown by already there is no denying that spring is definitely here, bringing with it fresh colours, blooming blossom and inevitable April showers. Whilst spring is also associated with the arduous ‘spring clean’ we think the season is a great opportunity to freshen up the colour palate of your home adding clean colours and fun prints which complement the shift in seasons.

When it comes to colour it is often thought that cream and off-whites are the best way to ensure that your home appears clean and neutral. However, we think that Farrow & Ball’s collection of blues and greys offer a twist to the classic cream colour scheme. By pairing your favourite cream or whites with a blue or grey you can create a soft feature to a room that will gently lift and refresh your living space. We particularly love ‘Borrowed Light’, ‘Skylight’ and ‘Parma Grey’. To view Farrow & Ball’s full range simply click on the link below:

A great way to give your living room a lift this spring is by adding a new piece of furniture. By acquiring a new piece of furniture can update your space without the hassle of a complete furniture overhaul which, if we’re honest, none of us want to be doing! By switching up the order of your furniture and adding a new piece your home will appear refreshed. This armchair from Loaf fits the bill perfectly. This cool ‘washed blue’ armchair is both classic and modern and would help to lift a room into spring, complimenting any neural colour scheme. This chair also comes in ‘Grey’ and ‘Pear Vintage’ which complements a yellow and cream colour palate perfectly. To view this chair online use the link below:

For us, nothing shouts spring like fresh linen. Update your bedroom by adding new fresh sheets; this is a really simple way to update a room without breaking the bank. The White Company are our top pick for spring-time bedding, their clean cut designs are fuss-free and are guaranteed to bring you an excellent night’s sleep.     This 200 thread count white bedspread from their ‘Spring Refresh’ collection is the perfect way to introduce the clean and crisp seasonal notes to your bedroom. A really simple way to revamp a living space is by adding a splash of colour and pattern with fun fabrics and upholstery. Our top pick comes from Clarissa Hulse whose British textiles are the perfect way to welcome spring into your home. As well as her beautiful bespoke cushion designs you can also visit her site for a range of fabrics, lampshades, bedlinen and home accessories. We love these botanical prints which add a splash of colour whilst also hinting at the fresh florals traditionally associated with spring. Introducing a fun pattern to a space also creates a light-hearted and modern touch to a room which is exactly what is needed for a spring revamp! To give your dining room a spring time face-lift we recommend introducing crockery that compliments the seasonal palate. We are fans of Habitat’s REX collection (see below). This collection has a mix of pastel shades that look great together and by using in a fun mix-and-match way creates a fun and laid back atmosphere at the dining table. By pairing a fun dining set with fresh daffodil and tulips spring will be at the centre of your home! To view the REX collection online visit the link below:
