Is Mansion Tax going to morph to a tenant tax?

Just a simple observation that tenants pay council tax.  If the bands of council tax are changed or the amounts payable at each council tax band are increased then this will simply have the effect of increasing the cost of living for tenants.

 

Given that the number of people who let is expected to increase - this simply increases the cost of living for this constituency and probably increases the time that they need to save a deposit to buy their own home.

I don’t know what is best but I would have appreciated much more detail from the politicians making what appears to be off the cuff proposals.
